Alcatel-Lucent, Samsung Electronics and Special Events Group move into the ETC in Sofia

altAlcatel-Lucent, Samsung Electronics and Special Events Group have rented a total of 2000 sq m of office space at the European Trade Centre (ETC), Bulgarian media reported on May 3 2010.

Alongside Vivacom, who have already taken about 23 000 sq m of space, along with Carrefour, who have rented out 6700 sq m, off-sourcing firm CallPoint New Europe and Spanish fashion chain Inditex with 2500 and 400 sq m respectively, the three new additions constitute a total of 34 600 sq m of office space taken, or 60 per cent of the ETC's total capacity.

"With the arrival of those companies to the ETC, it will add to the value of their respective businesses," Tanya Kosseva-Boshova, CEO of ETC, told Dnevnik.

"The aforementioned firms are currently using obsolete administrative buildings which are insufficient for such corporate clients and their needs," she said, adding that the latest trend is for firms to leave the old independent administrative locations and move into new amalgamated office complexes which offer additional services.

Perched on Tsarigradsko Chaussee, the ETC business park reported in September 2009 that the contract between ETC and Vivacom was the largest ever office rent deal in the Bulgarian market's history.

The European Trade Centre has five class A office buildings with a total area of 70 000 sq m. The exclusive consultant of the project is Colliers International, while the project itself cost about 70 million euro.
