Bulgaria's Next Largest Shopping Mall to Open 2012 End

Paradise Center – the future largest shopping mall in Sofia and Bulgaria – is expected to open at the end of 2012.

The Paradise Center mall will offer a total of 80 000 square meters of commercial space plus 25 000 square meters of entertainment venues, according to Forton International, the company that will manage the leasing of space, as cited by the Pari daily.

Paradise Center is designed to be a "lifestyle mall", i.e. a center combining retail with leisure options usually located in the vicinity of upscale neighborhoods.

The future largest Bulgarian mall will feature lots of greenery, natural light, fountains, and an ice rink; it located on the junction of the Cherni Vrah Blvd, the Srebarna Str., and the Todor Kableshkov Blvd, and is expected to be connected underground to the final station of the second line of the Sofia Metro, which is to opened in the summer of 2012.

Forton is quoted as saying that Paradise Center will feature the most expensive international consumer brands, some of which are not present in Bulgaria yet.

The design concept of Paradise Center is authored by the London-based architectural firm RTKL, which has designed some 4 million square meters of commercial space.

Comfort, which completed Grand Mall in Bulgaria's Varna in 2010, is the construction company in charge of the execution of the project. Russian-owned company, which is known for its Rostokino Mall in Moscow with an area of 170 000 square meters, is investing some EUR 100 M in Paradise Center.
