Bulgarian Cadastre Agency Readies Digital Informative System

Bulgaria's Cadastre Agency is preparing a digital informative system that would be used for the drawing up of the real estates maps.

A cadastre map for a total of 8% of Bulgaria's territory is ready, it emerged from a seminar of the agency. The Cadastre agency has already digitized its date base for agriculture lands and woods and is about to draw up their maps, Tsvetan Boev, executive director of the Cadastre Agency said.

Some 70% of the information for the real estates in Sofia has already been digitized

The cadastre maps and registers for five pilot regions are ready - Assenovgrad, Balchik, Dupnitsa, Samokov and Smolyan.

The land mapping is part of Bulgaria's engagement to establish an integrated system for administration and control.

Under the latest EC Comprehensive Report, Bulgaria should be able to meet the obligations of membership at the envisaged date of accession, provided that it steps up its efforts to that end in a number of areas, including agriculture, by strengthening the administrative capacity.

The mapped lands will be then digitally processed and systematized in a digital map. Then a vectorisation - outlining physical land blocks - will be carried out, the agriculture minister explained.
