Bulgarian Construction Companies to Work in Georgia

altBulgarian construction companies might take part in hotel building along Georgia's Black Sea coast. This was agreed between Bulgarian minister of economy Traycho Traykov and the governor of Georgia autonomous district Adjara, Levan Varshalomidze during the International Energy summit in Batumi.

The authorities of the district are planning large-scale investments in hotel building and infrastructure projects along Georgia's Black Sea coast. It is expected the development projects to create 8,000 job positions. Minister Traykov suggested part of the workers should be trained by Bulgarian specialists.

Minister Traykov and governor Varsholomidze discussed the possibility of launching a direct ferry connection between the Bulgarian coastal city of Varna and Georgia's port Poti/Batumi that will allow transportation of Georgian goods to the European markets via Bulgaria. Bulgarian companies would participate in tenders for the expansion of gas pipeline network of Batumi and gasification of the city.

Minister Traykov discussed with Georgia's PM Nika Gilauri the possibility Bulgaria to receive gas supplies from Azerbaydjan via Georgia and the Black Sea.
