Bulgarian builders to participate in the construction of projects in Qatar, worth over $300 bn

Bulgarian companies will be able to participate in the construction of large-scale infrastructure in Qatar, whose short-term worth is estimated at over $300 bn. This became clear at Monday’s meeting of Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova and Qatari PM and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani. Both sides expressed a desire to finalise the negotiations on current projects and Qatar's Prime Minister intends to visit Bulgaria in the spring of 2013.

All bilateral projects, work on which should be speeded up in the coming months and completed by the beginning of next year, were discussed. PM Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani confirmed the commitment of Qatar to participate in the construction of the Rousse-Svilengrad high-speed road within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation. Bulgarian businesses have been invited to open a representative office in Qatar, considering the opportunity to unite in a consortium in order to increase its competitiveness. According to the Qatari Prime Minister, in this way, our businesses will be promptly informed about future projects and the opportunities to participate in their implementation.
