EC will press for free roaming

European Commission proposes roaming within the European Union to become free.

This could be done by next summer for voice services and mobile internet by 2016. The proposal is part of a package of legislative changes related to the telecommunications market. It envisages the creation of a single market and easier access to it mobile operators. The changes defined as the largest sector of 26 years. Prohibition mobile operators to charge for incoming calls, i.e. roaming and since 2016 not to pay extra for internet use abroad.

„One option is the operator to offer a plan that covers all European countries. Thus will pay the same price for the game, no matter where you are. Failing to do so, you - as a consumer - you have another option to avoid paying roaming. Then whenever you are in another EU country, you can choose a local operator if you do not like the price offered by your service provider. This will be done in the same way today choose wi-fi . Moreover, it will prohibit charging for incoming calls, "said Ryan Heath, a spokesman for the European Commission.

Consider changes in the way of charging for international calls from landlines. The Commission believes that in the European Union should not exist international calls. This means that for a minute conversation between Sofia and Brussels, for example, the telecoms cannot take more than a minute of conversation between Sofia and Plovdiv, for example.

Now the market of telecommunications services in the European Union is actually 28 separate markets. Changes, some of which is proposed roaming provide any operator registered in one country may not work in another, without requiring him to be authorized and there.

The European Commission, after being adopted by all 28 states, the new rules will allow telecoms to develop better and to protect both consumers and you.

There is an idea contracts for telecommunications services to be of at most 12 months. Will be possible and client end his contract if the speed of the Internet, it receives less than promised.
