Kinomania Film Fest Launched in Sofia

The twenty seventh edition of Kinomania Film Festival has been launched officially Thursday evening in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
As usual, the fest will unite some of the latest and best works of international cinema. Kinomania, which will end on December 1, is taking place at the movie theaters Lumiere and Odeon, and Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture, NDK.
Tickets are sold at NDK box offices and price range between BGN 10 and BGN 12 and BGN 8 for retired people and students.
The festival opened with "The Butler," starring Forest Whitaker who plays assistant to seven US presidents in Lee Daniels' biographic Hollywood drama.
Other titles include Passion (Brian De Palma), Only Lovers Left Alive (Jim Jarmusch), Blue Jasmine (Woody Allen'), Inside Llewyn Davis (Coen brothers), Philomena (Stephen Frears) and The Grandmaster (and Kar Wai Wong).
There is also a long list of documentaries, including three Bulgarian ones - Uncovering Salome of Nayo Titzin', India Forever of now late Rangel Vulchanov, and Uncle Toni, the Three Stooges and the State Security of Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova, dedicated to animated films made under the careful watch of the former Communist State Security and to one of the most talented Bulgarian animation artists – Antoni Traynov (Uncle Toni).
There are also two retrospectives – of Federico Fellini and Robert De Niro.
