Maxima Bulgaria, the owner of discount retail chain T-Market, will open its first shopping centre in the country, which will be in Sofia's Triaditza borough, the company said on May 9 2011.
The complex covers 2000 sq m and has a supermarket, a bank, a pharmacy, a restaurant and several shops.
Maxima Bulgaria, which is a unit of Lithuanian group Maxima, runs 39 supermarkets in the country, which operate under the T-Market and T-Market Express brands.
By the end of 2011, the company plans to raise the number of its outlets to 50.
Maxima Bulgaria ended the first quarter of 2011 with a turnover of 31.1 million leva, an annual increase of 10.4 per cent.
Since the start of the year, the company has opened eight supermarkets countrywide.
