New Hilton hotel opens at the Black Sea coast
The new Double Tree Hilton hotel will open in Bulgaria's Golden Sands sea resort on May 26 2011.
The hotel is just 30 minutes away from the city of Varna and Varna International Airport. Another Hilton hotel in Varna is planned to open its doors in 2012.
At a news conference at Sofia Hilton hotel, on May 25 2011, the global head of Double Tree by Hilton, Rob Palleschi, general manager Claudio Sturm and hotel entrepreneur Georgi Velchev gave an overview of the hotel's facilities and comforts.
Guests can enjoy 196 renovated rooms, several restaurants, a nightclub, fitness centre, beauty and spa centre and a private beach. The hotel will offer beautiful vistas as Golden Sands National park is nearby.
Velchev told The Sofia Echo that the land on which the hotel is built had been a strictly regulated area, much more so than other Black Sea resorts. He said that the law now allowed only renovation of old hotels and no new buildings in Golden Sands. Velchev said that Bulgaria was introducing new building regulations faster than Spain, so concrete jungles would be avoided in the future. No defacing of Bulgarian Black Sea coastal nature was possible, he said.
Double Tree by Hilton Varna-Golden Sands is a part of the Hilton hotel chain, which has 350 hotels and resort locations across five continents. Sturm said that the new hotel will promote certain values such as honesty and flexibility and make its guests feel relaxed and happy.
The hotel is a member of Hilton worldwide, a fast-growing network in Eastern Europe. Double-Tree by Hilton has two hotels in Bratislava, Slovakia. Romania and Turkey are next in line for forthcoming hotel openings. "We feel very, very confident in this region of the world," Palleschi said.
Palleschi said that Double Tree by Hilton will open new hotels in Novosobirsk, Russia and two hotels in Moscow in 2012.
