The village of Ognyanovo is situated in Western Rodopi mountain on the right riverside of Kanina under Darbash hill. The region has a specific micro climate because of acacia flowering which are natural and the local aerial flows in the river valley. The communal center - Garmesh is located on 4 km to the Northwest, the closest city is Gotse Delchev- on 10km to the Southwest. From the capital of Bulgaria- Sofia on 200km to the South , from Plovdiv- the grounds of an exhibition - on about 100 km and from Blagoevgrad- 100 km to the Southeast.
There are 24 mineral springs in the region which are divided in two locations: on 1.5 km to the North from the village (situated by the river) close to the city baths and in the prevention center of Ognyanovo.The treatment of bones joints gastric and endocrine diseases is available during the whole year because of the climate.
There are a city hall, a mail station, a pharmacy, a health care station, a kindergarten and a club of pensioners.
One of the village glories is the textural colored carpets. They are made by looms with the size of a room. The patron festival of the church "the Assumption of the Virgin Mary" in on 15th of August and is celebrated for two days with a traditional fair with fights and concerts. The remarkable Roman village of Nikopolis ad Nestum ( IV century BC) is located on 15 min away from the mineral springs of Ognyanovo. The village of Kovachevitsa is another priceless sight with the specific architecture of the Bulgarian national revival In the village of Ognyanovo you would experience comfort, domesticity and delicious food made by bio products.
