National astronomic observatory and planetarium "Nicolaus Copernicus"

"The planetarium", as it is called by the locals, is one of the attractions of our Sea Capital. It was founded by Nikolay Petrov and was oficially opened on May 22nd, 1968. Located in the Sea Garden, just few meters away from the central entrance it is easy to be found. The "star hall" possesses 80 sitting places. The planetarium is model ZKP-1, and the diameter of the dome is 10 m. There is a projector for displaying the Solar system and a video projector with a computer and a sound system.
The astronomic observatory is equipped with computers, telescopes and binoculars, used for student's training and for observation of the Moon, the Sun, the planets, the variable stars and comets, as well as for demonstrational observations for the visitors of the Planetarium.

Individual visitors:
During the winter period - Tuesday and Friday from 5 pm. During the summer period - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (except for the holidays) from 5 pm and from 6.30 pm


Groups:
Year round - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (except for the holidays) - from 9 am, 10.30 am, 12 am, 2 pm, 3.30 pm and 17 pm. The group should be of at least 20 people and a preliminary order is required on the following phone numbers: 684441 and 684444.
