Gracka mahala (meaning Greek area) is the oldest part of modern Varna. Before the liberation the quarter was inhabited mostly by Greeks. In the neighborhood there were located and the first diplomatic missions not only in  the city but across the  whole country.
The area is predominantly build-up with houses and 4-5 stroey residential buildings. Most of the buildings date back to the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century and are architectural monuments.
Today the district is among the most expensive in Varna and  in Bulgaria.
The area borders the Railway Station Area, the Sea Garden,  Shishkovata gradinka,  Knyaz Boris I Boulevard.
In the neighborhood were found the remains of many Roman and Greek buildings of the antiquity, the most famous of which are the Thermal Baths (the Roman Thermae). They are the largest ancient structure discovered in Bulgaria.
At the beginning of the 20th century in the neighborhood have raised new buildings with European species, but for their bases were used the remains of ancient buildings.
In Gracka mahala are the buildings of the Bulgarian maritime fleet, the Bulgarian Navy,  the District Police Department - Varna, the Museum of Medicine, the church St. Bogoroditsa - known for its miraculous icon, "St. Athanasiy" church, the Armenian church, a swimming complex, The Naval Museum, the Aquarium, the Planetarium, a post office, banks, offices of mobile operators, shops, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants, hotels, parking lots, specialized stores for yacht equipment etc.
