Byala Slatina is a town in Vratsa region, the administrative center of Byala Slatina Municipality.
Byala Slatina is situated about 50 km northwest of the city of Vratsa, 57 km from Pleven, 10 km from the town of Knezha and 145 km from Sofia. The population is about 13,500. An interesting fact is that the town is one of the few planned ones - built with long straight streets.
Tourist sites that visitors can go to are Kitkata - landmark located in the territory of Byala Slatina, which still is a town's symbol, several monuments of prominent revolutionaries and politicians who have left a mark on the Bulgarian history as and house-museum of Nikolay Hrelkov.
Every year about Crossday / September 14 / a traditional Fair is held. The river Skat goes neat town providing good opportunities for fishing.
A base of the local economy is agriculture, gardening is slightly developed, and livestock is primarily in small family farms. Industry is represented by engineering plants, the food, pharmaceutical, garment and textile industry.
The municipality has not developed tourist destination, but has potential for development of tourism - cultural, rural and hunting.
There are regular bus lines to Vratsa, Montana, Kozloduy, Knezha and other smaller settlements in the region.
