Yabalkovo is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is part of Kyustendil Municipality, District of Kyustendil.
It stands about 3 km north-east of the town Kyustendil.
The village residents are about 1100.
The relief is flat and hilly, with average altitude of 430 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with mild winters and warm and dry summers.
The infrastructure of Yabalkovo includes partly asphalted and luighted streets, electrical and water-supply and sewerage systems, Internet, cable TV and telephones.
European route E79 passes through the village, linking it to the town of Kyustendil and the capital of Sofia.
There is regular transport to and from the town of Kyustendil.
There is a town house, kindergarten, community center, post office and church at the disposal of the village residents. There are shops and restaurants available as well.
Medical care is provided in the local health center.
Banishtitsa River runs through the village, offering environment for recreation and walks in the nature.
Less than 2 km away is the reservoir of Nikolchevtsi, and about 4 km away is the Drenov Dol reservoir, both suitable for fishing.
The link of the village with the town of Kyustendil gives opportunities for visiting the spas , as well as the Roman baths in the central part of the town. The hill of Hisarlaka is rising about 2 km south-east of the village. There is a fortress there, built at the end of IV and the beginning of V century.
