It’s situated at the foot of Ostrets Peak in the Balkan Mountains. It’s 5 km from Elena, 6 km from the ski-run Miikovtsi. Veliko Tarnovo is on 45 km, Sofia 212 km and Varna 215 km.
The open spaces of Eleno-Tvardishki Balkan give the beginning of many swift-running rivers, in which the Balkan barbel and the chub live. In summer time the rivers offer good conditions for swimming and the meadows – for picnicking. The region is also suitable for hiking.
There’s an eco-path along the Toplata river valley, 10 km from the village. There are also some pictorial touristic paths, which are well-marked. There’s a ski-run around 500 m long with well-equipped ski-lift. The horse-riding, hunting, fishing and ethnographic tourism are very well developed in the region.
Many accommodations and holiday houses offer excellent conditions for rest, a tavern or a balcony with a view to Balkan Mountains. Tourist can stay there in all seasons.
The village offers a shop, a pub, a post office and good communications to the neighboring towns, as well as opportunities for seating a big number of tourists.
