Slatina quarter is situated in the eastern part of Sofia. It borders with Shipchenski prohod Blvd. on the south and with Geo Milev quarter, Akademik stadium, Festivalna hall and Reduta quarter on the west. t is a very calm and green quarter bordering with Reduta park.

architecture

Slatina quarter consists mainly of panel and EPK (shuttering large panel) blocks. Throughout the past ten years  numerous first-class residential building have been built around the market areas, mostly close to Reduta quarter. There are few family houses left in some parts of the quarter, some of which have yards.

The quarter was built-up twenty years ago and has no problems with the water and sewerage systems. There is local heating. There is enough free space between the residential buildings and there is no lack of parking lots.

education and administration

The following schools are open in the quarter:

• 148 school in Slatisnka Str.,
• St. St. Kiril and Metodii High School in 158 G. Milev Str.,
• 9th Secondary School, on Slatinska Str.,
• Higher School of Transport "T. Kableskhov";
• Transport college;

The fifth region police station is situated in Geo Milev Str.

There is a post office, several kindergartens, covered and open market areas, Cultural centre and St. Mina chapel.

Residents of the quarter can use the following transport lines:

• Tram № 20;
• Buses № 1, 3, 5, 5 A, 6, 9, 11, 72 and 75;
• Route taxis № 2, 12, 15, 20, 21;
