Village of Petrov dol is located in North-eastern Bulgaria, in the municipality Provadiya, Varna District.
Situated in close proximity to Hemus Highway /Varna - Sofia/, 43 km from Varna and Varna International Airport, 6 km from Provadiya.
Petrov Dol is a picturesque hilly village. The climate is temperate, with hot summers and mild winters.
The population is about 450 people.
There are police, hospital, restaurants and bars.
Several English and French families have bought property in the nearby village Krivnya for recreation or permanent living.
The region has many historic sites, beautiful scenery, tourist areas suitable for hiking, lakes for fishing and recreation, not industrial pollutants, the locals are peaceful and helpful.
North of the village of Petrov Dol protected area is Goliyama kanara, home to rare species Buzzard and Egyptian vulture. Between the lands of the villages Ravna and Venchan is natural landmark Pobit kamak.
In localities Chekaritsa and Chesnova polyana a few kilometers from the village are discovered rock monasteries. Interesting is Chushtkara - with preserved rock graffiti St. George maintained with an inscription in Greek and others.
Nearby are well Ereka and salt baths in Provadia - unique in the country. Healing baths with such action only in Karlovy Vary - Check Republic.
