Apriltsi

Apriltsi is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is in the Municipality of Pazardjik, District of Pazardjik.
The name Apriltsi could also be meant for the following: town of Apriltsi in District of Lovech, village of Apriltsi in Municipality of Kirkovo, District of Kardjali or village of Apriltsi, Municipality of Kozloduy, Distriict of Vratsa.
Apriltsi stands about 16 km north from Pazardjik, about 52 km away from Plovdiv and about 110 km away from the capital of Sofia.
About 5 km awa from the village passes Trakia highway.
There is regular public transport to and from Pazardjik.
Regarding it’s relief Apriltsi is divided into two: northern- hilly part and southern- plane. The average altitude is about 260 m.
The climate of the village is soft and conducive to the cultivation of figs, pomegranates, mulberries, hazelnuts, etc.
Almost all streets in Apriltsi are asphalt and lighted, there are telephone lines as well.
The population of the village is 547 residents.
There is a town hall, two churches- orthodox and protestant, post office, kindergarten, community center, two shops and two cafés. The closest school is in the village of Gelemenovo, about 5 km away.
GP and a Dentist visit the village three times a week, and the closest hospital is in Pazardjik.
Large photovoltaic solar park will be built on an area of 500 000 sq. m near the village of Apriltsi.
Attractions:
Elshishka river is running through the village center.
In the vicinity there are several reservoirs suitable for fishing and tourism, namely – Elshitsa reservoir about 5 km away, Dikilika reservoir about 10 km away and Boshulya reservoir about 10.5 km away.
The Middle-age fortress of Kaleto is standing on a hill about 5 km away north-west from thevillageofApriltsi, on the rising ground of Sakradja above Chereshova/Selska river, to the left of the road to the village of Elshitsa.
The lands of the village have been inhabited since Thracian times. In the outskirts of the village a brass coin of Amadoc I has been found, which is kept in the Museum in Plovdiv, as well as another one by Alexander the Great.
