Bachkovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in Asenovgrad Municipality, District of Plovdiv.

It stands about 9 km south of the town of Asenovgrad, about 30 km south-east of the town of Plovdiv and about 170 km of the capital of Sofia in the same direction.

The regular bus lines from Sofia and Plovdiv to Pamporovo ski resort, town of Smolyan, Madan and Zlatograd pass through the village.

The relief of the village is mountainous, and the average altitude is 325 m.
Climate in the region is continental, characterized  with mild and short winters and sunny, cool summers.

The regular population of the village is about 336 residents.

Infrastructure in the village is settled with paved and partly asphalted streets and lights, water-supply system and coverge of mobile operators.

Available public buildings at the disposal of the residents are a town house, church, post office, kindergarten. community center, shops and restaurants.

Medical services for  the population are provided in the municipal town of Asenovgrad. There are located the closest schools and kindergartens as well.

Travelling in direction Smolyan, left of the road is the picturesque Bachkovo Waterfall.
The village of Bachkovo attracts mostly with "The Assumption" (Bachkovo)  Monastery, built in 1083.
The rhythm of life in Bachkovo is entirely dictated by the life of the monastery. Several small hotels, pubs and restaurants are available around the monastery.

Not far from the village is the Asenova fortress - another tourist site of the national heritage which can be visited.
