Bersin is a village in West Bulgaria, part of Minicipality Kyustendil, District of Kyustendil.

It stands about 9 km south-east of the town of Kyustendil.

The population is about 150 residents.

The relief is flat and hilly, with average altitude about 550 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with mild winters and warm and dry summers.

Bersin is with well-developed infrastructure, including partly asphalted and lighted streets, full electrification, water-supply system, telephones, Internet and cable TV.

Less than 500 m from the village there is a road , linking the settlement to the town of Kyustendil, and about 5 km away there is a road to the town of Dupnitsa.

There is regular bus transportation to and from Kyustendil.

There is a town house, post office, community center with a functioning library and church.

Health service station and a dentist provide medical care to the village residents. There are shops and restaurants.

 

Attractions

In the lands of the village Neolithic settlement dating from the VI century BC was discovered. Two kilometers southwest of Bersin was discovered ancient necropolis with tombsand extensive inventory.

Micro-dams "Bersin" and "Bagrentsi" is located about 2 km and are preferred places for fishing and camping.

St. George church in Bersin was built in 1886.

The close proximity of Kyustendil makes possible visiting of the spas and Roman baths in Kyustendil. The hill of Hisarlaka is rising about 2 km  south-east of the town. There is a fortress there, built at the end of IV and the beginning of V century.
