Borisovo is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Slivo pole Municipality, Ruse Region.

There is another village with the same name. It is located in Elhovo Municipality, Yambol Region.

Borisovo is 25 km south-east from the centre of Ruse, 2 km in the same direction from town of Slivo pole, 96 km south-west from town of Silistra, 193 km north-west from town of Varna and 329 km north-east from city of Sofia.

Regular bus transportation to town of Ruse and town of Slivo pole. In close proximity to the main road Ruse-Silistra.

The village spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, on 48 m above the sea level. It is about 6 km away of Danube River. Plain relief and humid continental climate with cold winter and dry, hot summer.

Borisovo is with population of about 790 people. Electricity, water and communication equipment are provided. There is a town-hall, a post office, a community centre with a library, health services, various commercial areas and guest houses.

The nearest education centres are in the municipal centre - Slivo pole.

The population is occupied in agriculture - mainly grain crops and sheep-breeding. The conditions are favourable for bee-keeping and perennial trees.

Landmarks and tourism

Cultural sites in the village are: the Orthodox Church 'St. Archangel Michael' built in 1860; the Monument of the soldiers who died in wars - unveiled in 2008; the century old oak 'Bliznatsite' (The Twins) - in the surroundings of the village (about 200-250 years old).

Danube River is about 6 km away. It is excellent place for fishing and sun-bathing. 

Place of interest in the alternative tourism sphere is 'Kalimok-Brashlen' protected territory. The rich variety of animals has been preserved during the years. There are 230 bird species, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, rear and protected animals registered in the Bulgarian Red Book.
