Boino is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of Kardzhali Municipality, Kardzhali Region.

It is 13 km south-west from town of Kardzhali, 23 km north-west from town of Momchilgrad, 21 km east from town of Ardino, 261 km south-west from town of Burgas and 254 km south-east from city of Sofia. It is set next to the main road Kardzhali-Smolyan.

The population is approximately 350 people.

The village spreads out the South-eastern Rhodopes, not far away of Kardzhali Dam. The region characterizes with hot summer and mild winter.

The village is provided with electricity, water and communication equipment. Wastewater treatment plant is available as well.

There is a town-hall, a post office, medical care, an elementary school, a kindergarten, a mosque and different commercial areas. The nearest hospitals are in the municipal and regional town of Kardzhali.

Most of the population is occupied in agriculture - vegetable growing and stock breeding in the private farms.

LANDMARKS AND TOURISM

Boino is located about 13 km away of Kardzhali Dam. The dam is a perfect place for yachting, surfing and swimming. It is convenient for fishing as well, due to its variety of fish - brook trout, sturgeon, carp, amour, chub, perch, etc.

Hunting is organized in the game hunting stations of 'Zhenda', 'Bolyartsi' and 'Studen kladenets'.

About 32 km away of the village is set the historical landmark 'Perperikon' - archeological complex, consisting of large megalithic sanctuary, monuments from the antiquity and medieval fortress. It is part of the 100 National Tourist Sites.
