Brestovitsa is a village in the Central part of Northern Bulgaria. It is situated in Borovo Municipality, Ruse Region.
There is another village in Bulgaria with the same name, in Rodopi Municipality, Plovdiv Region.
Brestovitsa is 42 km south-west of Ruse, 11 km north-west of Borovo, 207 km in the same direction of Varna, 44 km south-east of Svishtov and 258 km north-east of Sofia.
Only 5 km away is the international road E85, part of transport corridor No 9 (Helsinki-Moscow-Bucharest-Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo-Alexandropolis).
Regular bus transportation to town of Borovo.
The village nestles in the Danube plain, on 234 m above the sea level. About 5 km away is Yantra River, and about 30 km away is Danube River. The lands are plain and hilly, and the climate - humid continental. Dry and hot summer and cold winter.
Brestovitsa is provided with electricity, water and communication equipment. The population is approximately 270 people. There is a town-hall, a post office, a special school, a centre for children from institutions, a community centre with a library, a church and commercial areas. The nearest education and medical centres are in the municipal centre of Borovo.
The population is occupied mainly in agriculture. Well-developed are grain production (wheat, barley and corn) and stock-breeding (cattle, pigs and poultry).
