Buhovtsi is a village situated in North-eastern Bulgaria. It is part of Targovishte Municipality, Targovishte region.
Buhovtsi is set 16 km north-east from town of Targovishte, 37 km south from town of Razgrad, 148 km south-west from town of Dobrich, 26 km west from town of Shumen and 111 km in the same direction from town of Varna.
Its population is approximately 640 people.
Buhovtsi spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, at about 200 m above sea level. The relief is plain and hilly, and the climate - humid continental. Hot, dry summers and cold winters. Fisek Mountain rises above the village. Fisek Dam nests at its foot.
The village is well-developed. Electricity, water and telephone net are provided. There is a private water source - a dam. There is a town-hall, a community centre and shops. The former airport of town of Targovishte is located there. Its landing-strip is 2800 m long. The nearest schools and health services are in village of Makariopolsko (7 km away) and the regional town of Targovishte (16 km away).
The village is easily accessible round-the-year. It is located on the main road Targovishte-Shumen. In close proximity to the main road Sofia-Varna.
Agriculture is the main means of living - wheat, barley, corn, sun-flower, vegetables and fruits. Stock-breeding is developed in the private houses.
The mountainous land Fisek is located between the villages of Buhovtsi and Cherencha. It is an interesting mountainous massif with round shape, which is separated by the other mountain chain. There are four outlined peaks. The highest of them is 500 m. Fisek micro-dam is perfect for fishing (carassius, common roach, Danube bleak, perch, carp, silver carp, grass carp, etc).
