Dabene is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in Karlovo Municipality, Disdtrict of Plovdiv.

It stands about 8 km south-west from the town of Karlovo, about 57 km north from the town of Plovdiv, about 142 km east from the capital of Sofia and about 13 km north-west from the town of Banya.

The transport links with the municipal center and the surrounding villages are well-settled. Dabene is a railway station of the route Karlovo-Plovdiv.

The relief is flat, with average altitude about 321 m.
The climate is continental, with soft winters and hot summers.

The population of Dabene is about 1577 residents.

The village infrastructure is settled with full electrification water supply system, asphalted streets and lights, shops and post office. There are several functioning small enterprises of metal, wood and glass production.
A town house, kindergarten, community center, post office, shops and restaurants are at the disposal of the village population.

GP and two dental practices are serving the residents’ medical needs. The closest school and hospital are in the town ofKarlovo.

Attractions

Balyovitsa and Konnik hills are in the proximity of the village of Dabene. Those are places, suitable for hiking, paragliders and hang gliders.

The river Stryama is close to the village, and with its banks and beautiful sites is a favorable place for picnics and walks. It is also suitable for fishing, with variety of species.

In the time-frame 2004 - 2009, archeologists from the National Museum of History found over 20 000 golden objects in the vicinity of Dabene. The finds date from 4000 years ago and are now displayed in the National Museium of History. British press pays particular attention to finding, comparing it in size and importance of Schliemann’s discovery of the treasure of Troy.
