Darzhanitsa is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Dimovo, District of Vidin.

It is located 28 km northeast of Dimovo city, 35 km south of Vidin and about 175 north-west of Sofia, 6 km away from the main road Vidin - Lom.

The average altitude is 68 meters. Climate is characterized by cold winters and hot, dry summers.

The population numbers 77 people.

It is one of the oldest settlements in the Vidin region, dating back to the Iron Age , situated on the river Archar.

The nearest kindergarten, primary and secondary schools and health facilities are located in the municipal center Dimovo.

Tourism and landmarks:

There is a small church in Darzhanitsa.

Near the village is situated Studenata dupka cave.

Magura cave located about 43 km southwest. The cave is one of the most beautiful in the country, a part of the Hundred national tourist sites. It was carved from a river. It occupies over 30 000 sq m of area and the total length of the galleries found so far is about 2500 m.

Belogradchik Rocks - one of the most famous rock formations in Bulgaria, also part of the Hundred national tourist sites. The rocks are located 55 km southwest.

Rakovitsa monastery Sveta Troitsa /Holy Trinity/, which is located 67 km west. Founded in 10-11 century, after the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule the monastery declined. It was restored in the 17th century by St. Pimen of Sofia, but in the late 18th century, was destroyed. Currently it is restored and operating.
