Dragor is a village in southern Bulgaria, part of Pazardjik Municipality, Pazardzhik region.

It lies about 5 km northwestern direction of the town of Pazardzhik.

The population is about 1450 inhabitants.

The terrain is hilly plain with average altitude of 240 m.
The climate is temperate with sunny, warm summer and mild winter, with little snow.

The village has electricity, water main and partly paved and lightened streets. There is Internet, cable TV and telecommunications.

About 5 km from the village passes Highway A1 “Trakia”. At about 7 km away passess European road E80, which connects Dragor village with the cities of Pazardzhik and Plovdiv.

There is regular bus transport to the village connecting it with the city of Pazardzhik.

The village has a town hall, post office, school, community center and church. There is also a network of retail shops and restaurants.

General practitioners and dentists serves the needs of the inhabitants.

The closeness of the village to the city of Pazardzhik is convenient for young people who are living in Dragor, but work and study in Pazardzhik.

 

Places of interest and tourism

River Topolitsa runs through the village just before merging into the river of Maritsa. In the summer it is a cool and nice place for resting and walk-arounds.

About 20 km northwestern direction away from the village there are several good for fishing dams.

Not far from the village is situated the town of Batak, that offers beautiful nature and great conditions for hunting, fishing, mountaineering and tourism, as well as winter and water sports.

At a distance of 48 km away is the year-round mountain resort Tsigov chark set on the territory of the Western Rodopi Mountain - south-east from the picturesque Batak Dam. Batak Dam waters offer excellent conditions for fishing and water sports. Many chalets and hotels are at your service in the area if you want to relax in the beauty and fresh air of Rodopi Mountain.

The town of Velingrad is around 50 km away with more than 200 000 visitors who come for the numerous mineral water springs, comfortable and modern baths, the soft climate and the wonderful nature of the town. The most precious natural treasure of the town of Velingrad is the mineral water springs. The temperature of the springs varies from 28ºС up to 86ºС.
