Drenta is a village in North Bulgaria, part of Elena Municipality, District of Veliko Tarnovo.

It stands about 60 km south-east of the town of Veliko Tarnovo and about 20 km south-west of the town of Elena.

The population of the village is about 100 residents.

The relief is flat-and-hilly, with average altitude of 500 m.
Climate in the region is temperate continental and mountainous in the higher parts. Summers are relatively cool, winters are harsh and cold, due to the hollow nature of the relief.

Village infrastructure includes partly asphalted and lighted streets, electricity, water-supply, coverage of mobile operators, telephone lines and cable TV.

There is regular bus transportation from and to the town of Elena.

A town house, post office, community center and church in the village, as well as shops and restaurants are available for the village residents.

Medical services are provided by General Practitioners in the town of Elena.

At about 30 km north of Drenta is Yovkovtsi dam, which is one of the largest in size in Bulgaria. The location is suitable for holidays close to nature and practicing water sports and fishing. There is horse riding as well.
The villagers offer hospitality and comfort in a few guest houses.

Due to the exclusive nature of the Elena Balkan Mountains, the preserved traditions, newly built places for recreation and excellent conditions for the development of eco-tourism, the village attracts more tourists and visitors, nature lovers who combine holidays with useful activities such as fishing , mushroom and  herbs collecting.

Closeness to Elena allows many sights to be visited. The most famous monument is the Clock Tower, which was built by an unknown artist in 1812. Its location is such that it is visible from anywhere in town. Of all the old houses in Elena most interesting house-museum "Ilarion Makariopolski" In one of the rooms of this house was founded the town's community center.

"St. Nicholay" Church is the oldest in the city. It was built at the beginning of the XVI century and is buried in the ground because it was built in secret.
