Dzhulyunitsa is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Tsenovo Municipality, Ruse Region.

There is another village with the same name in Bulgaria - Lyaskovets Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Region.

It is situated 61 km south-west from the centre of Ruse, 9 km north from village of Tsenovo, 24 km south-east from town of Svishtov, 224 km north-west from town of Varna and 255 km north-east from city of Sofia.

The population is approximately 250 people.

The village spreads out the low current of Yantra River, in the middle part of the Danube plain, on 57 m above the sea level. The area characterizes with plain and hilly lands. The climate is humid continental. The summer is hot and dry, the winter is cold.

There is a town-hall, a post office, a community centre, an orthodox church and commercial areas. It is provided with electricity, water and communication equipment. The village of Novgard (4 km) is the nearest settlement with education centres and doctors. The nearest hospitals and railway station are in town of Byala (23 km).

LANDMARKS AND TOURISM

Dzhulyunitsa is set next to the beautiful meanders of Yantra River, among spacious meadows and interesting cave formations, about 8 km away of the outfall in Danube River.

Excellent are the conditions for fishing - European chub, asp, northern pike, sheatfish, zander, perch, etc. The river is convenient for kayaking from town of Byala to the outfall in Danube River. The riverside is convenient for camping as well.

In close proximity to the village is 'Markov cross' area, on the left bank of Yantra River. It is set high in the rocks and represent hewn cross. Some of the local people connect it with the deeds of Krali Marko - famous hero praised in the Bulgarian folk songs.
