Fatovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is about 11 km southeast from the town of Smolyan, 31 km in the same direction from the resort Pamporovo, 15 km northwest from the town of Rudozem and 254 km southeast from the city of Sofia. Neighbouring village of Polkovnik Serafimovo is located 3 km southeast.

The village is situated at an altitude of 965 meters in the southern part of the Rhodope Mountain.
The climate is temperate-continental, with a strong Mediterranean influence, with four well-defined seasons. The winter is mild but snowy. Spring - green and fresh. Summer - cool. Autumn - long and warm.

The permanent population is about 120 people.

There are two neighborhoods in the village - Upper and Lower Fatovo. the village has a town hall, church "St. Petka", several shops and a cafe. There is coverage of mobile operators, cable TV and Internet. The closest medical and educational institutions are located in the town of Smolyan.

In Smolyan village guests can visit: Smolyan History Museum - the oldest and largest in the Rhodope Mountain, Smolyan Planetarium, Rhodope Drama Theatre, "St. Vissarion", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice, Rozhen Observatory.

The region can also visit the following sites: "Wonderful Bridges" / 65 km /, "Haidouk meadows", "Rocks of Orpheus", "Trigrad Gorge/ 53 km / and Buynovsko Gorge", "Yagodinska Cave" / 68 km /, "Devil's Throat Cave" / 54 km /.
