Gorni Lom village is located in northwestern Bulgaria, Municipality of Chuprene, Vidin region.

It is situated 30 km southeast of Belogradchik city, 47 km northwest of Montana city, 85 km southwest of the city of Vidin and 145 km northwest of Sofia city.

It is located in a mountainous area, upstream of the Lom river at an average altitude of 430 meters. The climate is temperate-continental.

Village of Dolni Lom is the village with the largest population in the municipality. Residents number about 720 people. Most of them work in the factory for explosives and the hydro-electric power plants, that are 5 along Lom river.

The village has a primary school and a kindergarten, a GP and two dentists.

The majority of the streets are paved, the village has electricity and water.

Village of Gorni Lom is suitable for recreation and fishing.

Some of the main landmarks of Dolni lom are: a fortress called Kaleto, a mining gallery of Kolo, the church "St. Paraskeva" - built in the 14th century.

The village has magnificent view of Midzhur peak, the highest peak in Northwestern Balkan Mountains (2,168 m). There is a mass tourist climbing every year in August.

There are other attractiе routes as Obal vrah, Zebrats and Zhalta tintyava.

The annual festival of the village is held on the last Sunday of May.

In the municipal center Chuprene village (16 km northwest), you can see landmarks such as the clock tower in the center of the village, church and museum "Assen Balkanski".
