Granitovo is a village in Belogradchik municipality, Vidin region. 

In Bulgaria there is another village bearing the same name - in Elhovo Municipality, Yambol District. 

It is situated 5 km north from Belogradchik, 45 km south-west of Vidin, 65 km north-west from Montana, about 180 km from Sofia. 

It is located in the western parts of the region, at an altitude of about 300m. The climate is characterized by relatively cold winters, while summer is hot and dry. 
The population numbers about 60 people. Several families from England also have properties in the village. 

In Granitovo there are a town hall, church, a grocery store, tavern, medical center, which is served by two GPs. There is regular transport to Vidin and Belogradchik. The villagers can use schools and kindergartens in the municipal town. 
In Granitovo there are several guest houses which offer excellent accommodation. 

LANDMARKS: 

5 km from the village are Belogradchik rocks - perhaps the most famous rock formations in Bulgaria. 
"Magura" cave is located about 17 km away. The cave is one of the most beautiful in the country, a part of the one hundred tourist sites. 
Rabisha Lake - the largest inland lake in the country. 
Rakovishki monastery "St. Trinity", founded during the Middle Ages. The first secular school in northwestern Bulgaria was opened here in 1848.
