Hristo Danovo is a village is southern Bulgaria, part of Karlovo Municipality, Plovdiv Region.

It is about 80 km from the town of Plovdiv and 20 km southwestern direction from the town of Karlovo.

The population is about 1550 inhabitants.

The terrain is mountanious with average altitude of 668 m.
The climate in the area is transcontinental with mild winter with temperatures about 2ºС and a cool summer with temperatures about 23ºС.

The infrastructure is well-developed and includes electricity, water-main, telecommunications and cable TV.

The roads are asphalt, there is a railway station for the line – Hristo Danovo-Rozino, the road Troyan-Karnare is 4 km away and the first class road E871 that has a link to Sofia and Burgas.

There is a town hall, secondary school, kindergarten, community center with library, post office and stadium. A church is yet to be constructed.
There are a variety of shops.

The main occupation of the population there is agriculture, livestock, tobacco, lavender and rose. Part of the people work in a factory in the village of Karnare and town of Sopot.

 

Places of interest and tourism

The beautiful nature and fresh air of the Stara Planina Mountain helps for the development of eco-tourism and mountain tourism. Provides excellent conditions for hiking, sports and holidays.

Here is the National Park „Central Balkan“ and Waterfall „Suvcharsko“ with height of the water drop of 54 m.

The magnificence of the Stara Planina Mountain combined with the presence of Renaissance towns with rich history, Troyan, Klisura, Sopot, Karlovo, Koprivshtitsa in the region is an important prerequisite for the development of cultural tourism.
