Kalitinovo is a village in central Bulgaria. Located in Stara Zagora Municipality, Stara Zagora region.

The village is located about 10 km east from the city of Stara Zagora, about 44 km southwest from the town of Nova Zagora, 90 km west from the city of Burgas and 240 km southeast from the city of Sofia.

Kalitinovo is one of the largest villages in the municipality with a population of around 860 people.

Climate is temperate, characterized by mild and dry winter, relatively hot summer. In the early spring to late autumn are observed - heavy rainfall.

The village is well developed - with town hall, post office, library, community center set up with Christmas and Lazarska dance group. There is Internet access, cable TV and cover of all mobile operators. Medical service is undertaken by local health services with two GPs. The nearest general hospital in Stara Zagora.

The village is situated on the main road Stara Zagora - Burgas, railway station Kalitinovo is part of the Sofia - Burgas railway line. Regular bus and rail linked him to the regional center of Stara Zagora, to neighboring villages and towns.

Cultural attractions

Near the present village Kalitionovo were fought major battles during the Russian-Turkish war. From there comes the name of the village - it is named after lieutenant colonel Pavel Kalitin, who died in defense of the Samara flag.

The village has a monument of lieutenant colonel Pavel Kalitin and common grave of those killed at the Battle of Dzhuranli.

In Stara Zagora can be visited numerous museums and landmarks, most - prominent among which are: Ancient Forum "Augusta Traiana", Regional Historical Museum,  Neolithic houses, etc.
