Kardam is a village in North-East Bulgaria, part of General Toshevo municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 35 km north to the town of Dobrich, 14 km to the municipal center of General Toshevo and 5 km to the Bulgarian-Romanian border.

The relief is flat. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterised by a hot summer, colourful autumn, cold winter with plenty of snowfalls and a sunny spring. The population numbers to approximately 1 000 people. Altitude - 198 m.

In the village there is a secondary school, a community center, a kindergarten, a doctor's office, an Orthodox church, many grocery shops, a post-office, a mayoralty etc.
The village is supplied with water and electricity on a regular basis. The roads are in an excellent condition. Regular bus transportation connects the village to the towns of Dobrich and General Toshevo and the nearby villages. Kardam-Sofia railway is passing through the village.

development prospects

A modern wind park with a capacity of 12.6MW is currently being constructed on the territory of Kardam. 
The greatest advantages of the village are the excellent infrastructure and the proximity to the municipal center of General Toshevo.
The main occupation of the local people is agriculture. Fruits and vegetables are grown, as well. The climate and the soil provide excellent conditions for growing grains. Bee-keeping is well developed, as well.
Many of the village's inhabitants are commuting to their jobs in General Toshevo and the town of Dobrich on a regular basis.

• Near the village of Kardam is the location where the "farm by the border" described by the famous Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov.
