Komoshtitsa is a village in Northwest Bulgaria. It is located in Yakimovo municipality, Montana region. 

It is 9 km north of the village of Yakimovo, 40 km in the same direction from the town of Montana and 17 km southeast of the town of Lom. The capital Sofia is 148 km south. 

It is situated in the Danubian Plain and its altitude is 127 km. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter and hot summer. 

Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. The main streets are asphalted and with lighting. There are also constructed water and electricity systems. Mobile operators have coverage. 

The permanent population is about 998 people. 

Here are functioning town hall, primary school, community center, store and restaurant. GP takes care for the people in the village. The nearest kindergarten is in the village of Yakimovo. Specialized medical assistance you can get in the town of Lom where there are also working high schools. 

In 2010 the Orthodox church "St Petka" is renovated. In Komoshtitsa there is football club. Here is working modernized mill and the local people are mainly occupied in farming and stock breeding. 

The name of the village is derived from the word "kamash" which is from the family of the sugarcane. 

In proximity are situated two small dams that are suitable for relaxation and fishing. The people that enjoy this can also take advantage of the conditions which Danube river offers. 

In the village of Yakimovo was opened the first and only room for curling in Eastern Europe. The complex includes hotel rooms, fitness center and swimming pool and is suitable for people with physical disabilities.
In the local museum can be seen archaeological, ethnographic and Neolithic artifacts.
