Kutovo is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Vidin, Vidin district.

Kutovo village is located 12 km northeast of the town of Vidin, 68 km in the same direction from the town of Belogradchik and 208 km northwest of Sofia city. It is situated about 2 km. from Danube river.

The climate is characterized by cold winters and hot, dry summers.

The population numbers about 790 people.

Kutovo has regular bus transportto the town of Vidin.

The village has electricity and water supply systems and mobile coverage.

There are town hall, church, pharmacy, nursing home, park, bakery, retail shops, school, mill, cemetery, health center, cinema, petrol station and community center in the village. The school has been closed in 2008. Residents can count on educational institutions and specialized medical care in the nearby town of Vidin.

 

Tourism and landmarks:

The area is suitable for fishing tourism due to the close proximity of the Danube river.

The oldest church in Zlatorozhieto - "St. St. Peter and Paul" is situated in the village. It is built in 1873. There is a monument to the victims of the wars in the yard of the church.

The community centre "Prosveta" has been established in 1937. The Library has over 16,000 volumes. There are choir, children's folklore ensemble and children's dance troupe.

There is a magnificent park between the villages of Kutovo and Antimovo. There are growing rare trees.

In the water area of the Danube in Kutovo is the "Goliat" Island. It has rare species of birds and is included in the "Natura 2000".

Interesting opportunities for tourism offers Vidin, where are the fortress "Baba Vida", the mausoleum of patriarch Antim I and many other attractions are situated. 

Another interesting destination is the town of Lom, which is located about 60 km away. There are a historical museum, the ancient fortress Almus, center "Perseverance" building of the former School of Pedagogy, Borunskata church and others.
