LANDMARKS AND TOURISM

About a 100 metres south from the village, and 15km southeast from Kardzhali, there is the Thracian fortress. Nearby is situated the ancient locality of Dambal.

There have been performed a few archeological digs in the 70's, on the surface being founded a lot of fragments from variously shaped crocks. The fortress was built around the IV-I century B.C. It is lying on the ridge of the oblong peak, called "Tchit Kaya". On the south side of the fortress there may be found handmade elliptical and trapezoidal niches. They are located in three rows, in different intervals from one another. There are approximately 50 niches. The most passable one is the noth stone wall. Just below the rocky peak between the rivers and the village, there are some thracian village remains, where were found two tombstone mounds and a few ruinous graves from the same period of time.
