Maglishta is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Madan Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is 3 km west from the town of Madan, 32 km southeast from the town of Smolyan,  about 17 km northeast from the town of Rudozem and 269 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
There is regular bus transport to Madan and Smolyan.

Located in the Central Rhodope Mountain, at 778 m altitude. The climate is continental. The winter is long but mild. Summer is cool.

The permanent population is about 280 people.

Here there is a  town hall, shop and tavern. The village has a coverage of mobile operators, Internet and cable TV. Nearest kindergarten, school and hospital are located in the town of Madan.

Sightseeing and Tourism

Natural attraction is the cave in the area "Dupkata", located 2 km from the center of the village Maglishta. The entrance is two meters high and three meters wide. There, runs a creek, which enters to the cave. The main gallery is downward and is following large marble cracks. At about 40 meters from the entrance, the gallery collapsed in 3 meters deep well above it opens upward side gallery that leads to a small mud room.

In the town of Madan, you can visit: Cave Museum "Sharenka", area "Gabata", rock "Rimpapa", area "Kichikaya".

In Sliven village guests can see: Temple "St. Sofia" church "St. Bogoroditsa", Historical Museum,  Ethnographic Museum, House - museum Hadzhi Dimitar.
The area "Karandila" is located in the northeast part of Sliven, among old-growth forests. There is situated the Natural Park "Sinite kamani".

At about 15 km northwest is located the resort Sliven Mineral Baths. The resort is a favorite place for family vacations and SPA.
