Most is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of Kardzhali Municipality, Kardzhali Region.

It is 25 km north-east of Kardzhali, 70 km west of Svilengrad, 26 km south of Haskovo, 221 km south-west of Burgas and 225 km south-east of Sofia. The village is set next to the main road connecting the northern parts of the municipality with town of Kardzhali and the neighbouring Haskovo Region. There is a stop of the railway line Dimitrovgrad-Podkova. Regular bus transportation to town of Kardzhali and the neighbouring villages.

The population is approximately 630 people.

Village of Most spreads out on 450 m above the sea level, at the foot of the Eastern Rhodopes. Hilly relief with lots of greenery and forests.

Summer is warm and hot, and winter is mild.

The village is well-developed and provided with electricity, water and communication equipment. There is a town-hall, a post office, a police station, an elementary school, a kindergarten, a community centre, a mosque, a market place and commercial areas. The village is served by a doctor and a dentist. The nearest hospitals are in town of Kardzhali.

The region is with favourable conditions for vegetable growing - peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, etc.

 

Landmarks and tourism

Next to the village is located a small dam, suitable for recreation during the hot summer days. Just 12 km away is the second dam along Arda River - Studen kladenets Dam. Its water is used for fish-breeding. Kardzhali Dam (25 km) is excellent place for yachting, surf, swimming and fishing. Tourist attractions are the floating pontoon-restaurants that offer rich fish menu.

Place of interest in the region of Most is the cult complex 'Perperikon' (15 km) - one of the 100 National Tourist Sites. The complex rises high in the rocks, on about 470 m above the sea level.
