Pokrayna is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Vidin , Vidin region.

The village is near the town of Vidin, 6 km northeast of the city center, 63 km in the same direction from the town of Belogradchik and 203 km northwest of Sofia city.

It is located in the temperate-continental climate zone under the big bend of the Danube, surrounded on three sides of it. It is situated in a flat, without any hill area, at an altitude of 39 meters.

Due to its proximity to the town of the village is one of the largest in the region, the population numbers about 1239 people.

The name of the village comes from "po kraq/along" along Vidin city.

There are town hall, post office, community center, two grocery stores, general store and three bars on the central square, grocery store and a bar on the street to the village of Kapitanovtsi. There is a disco in the centre. The village has a kindergarten. The primary school has been closed and now the children of the village visit schools in Vidin city.

The community center is the only cultural center remained in the village after the closing of the school. It was founded in 1927.
 
There is a GP and a dentist in the village.

The football team "Levski" Pokrayna is among the best in the Vidin District group.

Landmarks and tourism:


"Sveta Troitsa/ St. Trinity" church - was built in 1884. There is a monument to those who died in wars in the courtyard of the church.

In Vidin one can visit: The Castle Baba Vida, the Turkish konak /police office/ Koluka, turned into a museum, the mosque and library of Osman Pazvantoglu, the Ethnographic Museum Krustata kazarma, Stambol Kapiya and many other cultural and architectural monuments, which the city is famous for.
