Popitsa is a village in the municipality of Slatina, Vratsa District. 
  
It is situated 5 km south of Byala Slatina, about 51 km north-east of Vratsa, 15 km south-west of Knezha and about 150 km from Sofia. 
  
Popitsa is located in the Danube valley, on about 120 m altitude. The Skat River passes through the village.
The population is around 1900 people. 
  
The village is fully electrified and supplied with water, mobile operators have coverage. Popitsa has Internet. There are grocery stores and shop for building materials, elementary school, kindergarten, home for elderly, community center, church and town hall. Regular bus service connects it with Byala Slatina, Vratsa and Mezdra. 
The main livelihood of the population is agriculture and beekeeping. 
  
Landmarks and opportunities for tourism: 
  
In Popitsa has good prerequisites for development of hunting, fishing and rural tourism. Each year in the village is organized gathering of the day of St. Dimitar / October 26/. Fishing and rafting take place on 22 August when the is celebrated the Festival of the river. 
  
Interesting places to visit are: 

Asparuhov Ostrovsky trench, located east of Popitsa. 
"Wrist" - landmark situated in the village of Byala Slatina, which continue to be its symbol. 
Lesopark Gergana, town of Knezha - a picturesque location with excellent opportunities for recreation. Here is set the only zoo in the area.
