Rechani is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.

Located in the western part of the Rhodope Mountains, near the border with Greece, 36 km southwest from the town of Smolyan, 53 km in the same direction from Pamporovo resort, 48 km south from the town of Rudozem and 282 km southeast from the capital Sofia. Neighbouring villages Arda and Mogilitsa are respectively 2 and 6 km north.
There is bus service to the town of Smolyan.

The village is located at an altitude of 1181 meters. The climate is characterized by cool and wet summer and autumn is long and warm.

The permanent population is about 50 people.

The village has a shop and cafe. In Arda operate two community centers, primary school, kindergarten and town hall. There you will find a  doctor, nurse, and dentist. The nearest medical facilities are in the city of Smolyan.

 

In the area you can visit:

Agushevi konatsi / architectural and artistic monument of national importance / located in the village of Mogilitsa. In 1834 in the village was built a large feudal castle (town hall) - the largest in the Balkans at the time. It is designed and implemented as a solid winter abode of Agus Agha and his sons. Construction of Agushevi Konak lasted 20 years.

In the area of ​​Mogilitsa there are 20 caves, the most interesting of these is Uhlovitsa. It is located in the area Sinite virove -3 km east of the village on the left bank of the river Arda.

For winter sports enthusiasts advantage is the close proximity of the slopes in the resort Pamporovo and Chepelare / 62 km /.
