Village of Rositza is situated in the most western part of Dobrich region, between the villages Krasen and Loznitza. It is located some 5 km away from the border to Republic of Romania, 35 km away from the town of General Toshevo and 68 km away from the town of Dobrich.

The population numbers to approx. 600 people. The latitude is 204 m. The climate is temperate-continental with distinguished four seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter. The relief is flat . The former name of the village used to be Saradja.

infrastructure

In the village there is a mayor's office, a kindergarten, food shops, a a cafe, a mosque, a community center with a rich library and a folklore group winner of many prestigious awards. A memorial plate in the village reminds that the great Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov used to live and work as a teacher in the village. In Rositza there is also a school, established in 1882 where Yordan Yovkov worked as a teacher. It is currently not functioning and needs to be repaired.

nature and tourism

There is no industrial production in the area and the nature is ecologically clean. The village is quiet and peaceful, set among lavish greenery.
An operational program has been developed in the nearby village of Krasen aiming to improve the infrastructure in the area and to provide suitable conditions for the development of cultural, rural, fishing and eco-tourism. Planned as per the program is the establishment of an information center, a grain production museum and an ethnographic museum in Krasen as well as the popularization of the beautiful dam-lake of Dryan, located 2 km away from the village of Krasen and 15 km away from the village of Rositza.
