Ruzhintsi is a village and administrative center of Ruzhintsi municipality situated in Vidin region.  
  
It is 54 km south of Vidin, 15 km east of Belogradchik, 43 km north - west from Montana, about 150 km in the same direction from Sofia. 
The international road E-79 Vidin-Sofia-Kula passes nearby. 
  
The village is situated in the Danube Plain, on the riverside of Lom. The altitude is about 180 m. 
The climate is characterized by warm and relatively dry summer, while winter is cold and snow stays about 50 days a year. 
  
The population numbers about 870 people. 
  
Ruzhintsi has several grocery store, shop for building materials, cafes, pubs, post office. There are a kindergarten, community center, elementary school and vocational school of agriculture. Medical assistance is undertaken by general practitioners and two dentists. There is regular transport to Vidin and Sofia, the village is 5 km away from railway Oreshets station.  Market is organized every Wednesday. The village has a petrol and gas stations. 
  
SIGHTS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR TOURISM: 
  
Nearby are Drenovets dams and Christo Smirnenski, which together with the Lom River offer excellent fishing conditions. 
Belogradchik Rocks are rock formations located about 15 km from the village in the town of Belogradchik. They're part of hundred tourist sites. 
Near the city Dimovo, about 20 km north of s.Ruzhintsi is located Izvorski monastery.
