Spasovo is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria and is part of General Toshevo municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 28 km to the east from the town of General Toshevo, 50 km away north-east from the town of Dobrich, 21 km away from the sea-coast and Durankulak and 7 km to the south from the border to Romania.
The population numbers to approximately 980 people. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterized by a hot summer, a sunny autumn, a cold winter with plenty of snowfall and a fresh spring. The relief is flat. Altitude - 150 m.
In the village there is a school, a kindergarten, a community center with a rich library, an Orthodox church, a mayor's office, various types of shops, a pastry shop, a children's playground, a small park, a post office, a doctor's office. The village is supplied with water and electricity, the roads are in a good condition. Regular public transportation connects Spasovo to the municipal center General Toshevo and the nearby villages. The village is peaceful and quiet and the area is ecologically clean away from industrial enterprises.
An investment project is currently being developed for the construction of wind park near Spasovo village. It will consist of 60 wind turbines with a capacity of 150-180 megawatts . The project will be completed in 2011 and it will be the most significant investment on the territory of the municipality.
The local people are predominantly engaged into agriculture - sheep-breeding and bee-keeping. Excellent conditions are present for growing wheat, maize, rape-seed and sun-flower.
