Sredinka is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Kardzhali Municipality, Kardzhali region.


It is located at about 4 km north-west of the town of Kardzhali, about 35 km north-east of the town of Ardino, about 48 km south-west of the town of Haskovo and approximately 244 km south-east of the capital Sofia.

The village of Sredinka is situated near Arda river and Kardzhali Dam in the Eastern Rhodopes. Its altitude is about 238 m. The climate is transitional continental and is influenced by the Mediterranean. The winter is mild and the summer - warm.

The population is about 190 people.

Sredinka is a water-supplied and electrified village and its close proximity to the municipal center determines its good infrastructure. In the neighbouring village of Enchets /1 km in the west/ you can find the nearest post office, health service, primary school, kindergarten and community center. The closest hospitals are in the town of Kardzhali.

TOURISM

In the summer Kardzhali Dam, one of the largest dams in the country, is a wonderful place for sunbathing, relaxation and practicing various water sports. Nearby there are hotels, villas and restaurants that are ready to welcome tourists both from the country and from abroad.

A great tourist attraction are the floating pontoons-restaurants offering rich fish menu. Tourist may also enjoy jets, water bicycles and water ski. Nearby there is a modern rowing base.

Fishing here is well developed as the waters of Kardzhali Dam offer a variety of fish - brook trout, catfish, whitefish, sturgeon, mullet, carp, perch, bleak, rudd.

About 24 km north-east of the village is located the medieval complex Perperikon, which is part of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria and represents a big megalith sanctuary.
