TOURIST SITES

In 2009 a group of archaelogists found the remains of an ancient village near the village of Varhari. There is a hypothesis that the village is connected to the legendary town of Troy and that the predecestors of the Troyans, known by the Troyan war, described in Homer's "Iliad", were actually settlers from the Eastern Rhodopes. That theory has not been proved yet.
