Vasilovtsi

Vasilovtsi village is located in the municipality of Brusartsi, Montana region. 

  

In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name - in the Municipality of Dragoman, Sofia region. 

  

It is situated 7 km north-east of Brusartsi, 44 km north of Montana, 16 km west of Lom and 57 km south-east of Vidin

  

It is set in the Danube Plain, on the riverside of Lom. The climate is characterized by warm summers and cold winters, frequent high winds. 

  

The population is about 1200 people. 

  

There are a kindergarten, primary school, community center, church and town hall in the village. Medical care is covered by the general practitioner and the nearest hospital is located in the town of Lom. 
Vasilovtsi has a railway station, which connects it with the whole country. 

  

Tourism and landmarks: 

  

There are excellent conditions for development of fishing tourism due to the proximity of the Lom River and the Danube. About 20 km west and south-west are situated the dams Hristo Smirnenski and Drenovets. 
In the village can be visited St. George church and the Iron Bridge, which crosses over the river Lom. Nearby are Brusarski Monastery and the ancient fortress Almus in Lom. 

  

Each year in June is held fair.
