Golyam dol is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Bratya Daskalovi Municipality, Stara Zagora region.
It is about 5 km northeast from the municipality center village of Bratya Daskalovi, about 21 km northeast from the town of Chirpan, about 49 km southwest from the city of Stara Zagora and 205 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Through the village passes main road and there is regular bus transport.
The village is nestled at the foot of Chirpan Heights at 367 m altitude. The population is only about 120 inhabitants, mostly aging. Their main occupation is farming. Most crops are oil-bearing rose, lavender, vineyards, cereals.
The climate is moderate continental influence with the Balkan Mountains to the north. Winter is harsh with relatively stable and good snow. Typical of summer are frequent and big heat.
The village has town hall, post office, church, community center and store. There is coverage of all mobile operators. In the nearby village of Bratya Daskalovi there is a primary school and medical center.
Golyam dol is a wonderful place with fresh air and nature, appropriate for living and leisure.
Omurovska River divides the village of Golyam dol and the village of Malak dol. Both villages are connected by a bridge 250 meters long and 10-12 meters wide.
Around the village there are beautiful places that are worth to be visited: Dairy, Bakardzhiykata, Petkova and wine-growing fountains.
